St. Augustine web developer. Websites and custom web apps.
Most of what I’ve built is still running. I’m Steve — fifteen years of WordPress, custom web apps, and the API work that holds them together, for local businesses here in St. Augustine and for agencies who need a second set of hands that doesn’t need managing.

A one-time-purchase travel planning app. No subscription, no ads — which meant the whole thing had to be built to run cheap and stay out of its own way. I designed it, built it, and run the analytics behind it.

A multi-game fantasy platform for reality TV fans, built as a single WordPress plugin rather than a pile of them. Drafting, scoring, standings, and season rollover all live in one codebase so a new show is a new game, not a new build.

An IT staffing firm needed listings, applications, and admin review inside their existing site — without a third-party job board eating the traffic or the branding. Built native to their WordPress install.

Our own lead-generation tool, built for nothing but the time it took. It finds local businesses with no website or a slow one, scores them, and runs the outreach pipeline. I wrote up the whole thing, including the parts that didn’t work.

A regional IT consulting firm on an aging site that wasn’t showing up locally and wasn’t easy to update. Full rebuild on WordPress, with the local search work done alongside it rather than bolted on afterward.

A long-standing international association with a member experience that had grown by accretion. The rebuild was as much information architecture as design — deciding what a member actually needs on day one.

WordWeave, the Traitors tracker, and whatever else is half-finished this month. These are where I try things before they end up in client work.

WordPress websites that hold up
Builds for local service businesses and agency subcontract work — WordPress mostly, CraftCMS when the project calls for it. Fast, editable by a human, and built so the next person who touches it can figure out what I did.
Custom web apps and internal tools
Job boards, member portals, dashboards, small apps. Usually a Supabase backend with a front end I can ship to GitHub Pages in an afternoon. When the plugin doesn’t exist or costs more than it’s worth, I write it.
Local SEO for St. Augustine businesses
On-page SEO, Google Business Profile, and the keyword work that decides whether anyone in St. Johns County finds you at all.
The other half of the job
Before the code, there was a microphone. I do professional voiceover, podcast production, and sound design — and I still record and mix drum covers on a hybrid kit when nobody’s watching. If a project needs a voice as well as a build, that’s one fewer vendor to manage.
